The lion's roar is the fearless proclamation that whatever comes up in our state of mind, including powerful emotions, is workable...It is a reminder of practice...It is a way to procede further into the practice of meditation. The lion's roar is depicted by lions looking in the four directions. Our fearlessness is all pervading, radiating in all directions...enlightened experience. The lion's roar is analagous to space...space is all pervading...

A Prayer for the Auspiciousness of
Mahamudra, Dzogchen, and Madhyamaka

May there come Mahamudra's auspiciousness,
May the samadhi of bliss-emptiness increase.

May there come Maha Ati's auspiciousness,
May we hold strong the fortress of alpha-purity.

May there come great Madhyamaka's auspiciousness,
May reference points and fabrications dissolve.
